Phoenix weather: Cooler start to the week aheadPosted: Updated:
PHOENIX -- A relatively dry storm system brings a cooler start to the new week ahead. The low-pressure system is centered to the southwest of Arizona and is dropping further south.
There were a few snow flurries across Northern and Eastern Arizona Monday morning, and more light snow is possible throughout the day. However, significant accumulation is not likely.
The storm system will bring some clouds from time to time Monday and cooler temperatures both during the afternoon and following night and morning.
The Valley is only expected to top out near 61 degrees under partly cloudy skies. y tonight, skies clear and temperatures drop to the mid 30s to low 40s around town.
A high-pressure ridge begins to slide east into Arizona Tuesday afternoon, bringing high temperatures in the upper 60s with plenty of sunshine Tuesday through Thursday.
On Friday, a cold front moves into the state, bringing a chance for rain and snow. Temperatures should stay very cold all the way through the weekend statewide.
