EL MIRAGE, Ariz. -- El Mirage Police discovered a chop shop after a utility company asked for help regarding a theft of utilities investigation at an El Mirage home.

This occurred Thursday morning at a residence in the 13500 block of Poppy Street, near Thunderbird and El Mirage Roads.

While police were investigating the theft of utilities, they learned that car parts from stolen vehicles were in the garage of the residence.

A search warrant was issued and investigators determined that the car parts belonged to two different stolen vehicles. One vehicle was reportedly stolen out of Peoria and the other out of Glendale.

Evidence showed that both stolen vehicles had been dismantled and that a chop shop was being operated out of the residence.

The investigation is on going and police are looking for possible suspects.
