PHOENIX -- After a cold morning to start the New Year, temperatures will moderate somewhat over the next couple of days.
Still, temps will stay below normal with lows in the 30s the next couple of nights and highs only in the low-to-mid 60s.
We have some high clouds moving over Arizona Tuesday night and Wednesday morning and that will tend to keep temperatures a little warmer.
In the meantime, we had 35 at Sky Harbor Airport Tuesday morning, the coldest temperature since February 4, 2011, almost two years. On that date, the temperature got down to 30, which is really cold by Valley standards.
No major storm systems are forecast for this week. It should stay dry through the weekend. And although the final numbers are being tabulated, it does appear as we reported a week ago that 2012 will go down as the 16th driest year and 4th warmest on record for Phoenix.
