PHOENIX -- 2013 is going to be getting off to a chilly start here in the Valley.

There was light rain in the Phoenix metro area Sunday and light snow in the higher elevations.

While the sun is expected to return as the week progresses, temperatures will remain cool to start the New Year.

Monday’s high is expected to reach just 53, while on Tuesday we’re only projected to have a high of 55.

Things will warm up a bit by next weekend, as temperatures will likely get back into the mid 60s.
