Brothers who ran away from Mesa group home found safePosted: Updated:
MESA, Ariz. -- The two brothers who ran away from a Mesa Group home earlier this week have been found safe and are back in the custody of Child Protective Services.
The boys, ages 14 and 10, left the group home near Broadway and Sossaman roads Sunday morning. CPS had placed them there the night before after their mother was arrested.
No other details about their situation were immediately available and it's not clear where the boys have been all week.
Officers spoke to the boys' grandmother, who lives in Chandler, less than three hours after the pair was reported missing. She told police she saw the kids in the area of Chandler Boulevard and McQueen Road, which is more than 15 miles from the group home, but that they ran as soon as they saw her.
The Mesa Police Department expected to have more information later in the day.
