PHOENIX -- A Phoenix mother has been sentenced to probation for allowing her teenage daughter to allegedly have sex with a teacher.

The woman pleaded guilty to failure to report a misdemeanor. ( is not using the mother's name in order to protect the identity of the minor.)

Police said she knew about the relationship and even let the two have sex in her home.

On Monday, she told a judge that a week of intensive therapy helped her understand her actions.

"It was during this week that I finally processed the childhood shame and trauma which I believe perpetuated several dysfunctional and co-dependent behaviors, including looking the other way and assuming that things would be OK," she said in court.

Paradise Valley High School teacher Jordan Doneskey faces 10 counts of sexual conduct with a minor. He pleaded not guilty in September.

He was 26 years old and the student was 17.
