SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. -- Scottsdale police arrested a man accused of slashing the tires of 21 vehicles parked downtown.

David Luellen, 23, of Cave Creek, was booked on suspicion of theft, burglary and criminal damage.

Police said Luellen was asked to leave after he got into a drunken argument with a bartender at The Lodge Bar near Camelback Road and 75th Street early Monday morning. Luellen then damaged property inside the bar as he left.

Police found Luellen trying to break into a vehicle in a nearby parking garage.

During questioning, police said Luellen admitted that he broke into a vehicle he thought belonged to the bartender. The vehicle's tires were slashed.

Luellen said he was unsure if he had the correct vehicle so he began to slash tires of multiple vehicles in the area.

"I wasn't very happy," said victim Steve Daniels. "I'm glad they caught the guy, though. I'll definitely be pressing charges if they ask. Luckily, my insurance is covering it but still, huge inconvenience, missing work, having to deal with this on a Monday night."

Police found a utility knife in the garage.
