Phoenix weather: More rain and snow headed toward Arizona
By Mike Gertzman
PHOENIX -- Yet another cold front is headed toward Arizona and once again, we’re expecting rain and snow to be carried along with it.
By Tuesday afternoon, expect showers developing first in northwest Arizona and then moving across the state Tuesday night and Wednesday morning.
It will be a fairly quick moving front so the rain and snow won’t last long. Additional snowfall accumulations in the high country could be around 6 inches while the Valley could get 1/4 of an inch of rain. However, most of metro Phoenix will probably not get that much rain.
As for the last series of storms, officially we received .78 of an inch of rain putting our year-to-date total at 4.19 inches, still well below average. However, many Valley locations had rainfall amounts over 2 inches during the recent series of storms.
