Mohave County authorities investigate reported online threat toward studentsPosted: Updated:
KINGMAN, Ariz. -- The Mohave County Sheriff's Office is investigating an alleged online threat against a school.
Saturday afternoon deputies received an anonymous tip that a juvenile made a threat on the Internet toward kids at school. The threat did not mention a particular school.
Mohave County sheriff's deputies attempted to locate the juvenile throughout the afternoon and evening. Deputies learned the 17-year-old Kingman boy had an outstanding warrant.
The teen's father called the sheriff's office Sunday afternoon and said that he received a call from his son wanting to turn himself in to authorities. Deputies took the juvenile into custody at the sheriff's office at about 2:30 p.m.
Mohave County sheriff's detectives arrested the teen on a probation violation felony warrant issued by Mohave County Superior Court.
During conversations with the juvenile, he said that he was being stupid and he doesn't want to harm anyone.
He was transported and booked into the Mohave County Juvenile Detention Center.
The boy's name was not released.
This case will be forwarded to the county attorney's office for review.
