Clarkdale, Ariz. -- Two Chino Valley men were injured in a crash involving a dump truck and a car on Highway 89 in Prescott Thursday afternoon.

Prescott police Lt. Ken Morley said Joshua S. Hale, 38, was driving a Specialty Paving truck southbound on Highway 89 at mile marker 317.8 when one of the left side tires came off and he began to lose control.

The truck then hit a small passenger car that was traveling northbound on Highway 89. The truck flipped onto its right side and dumped a load of asphalt on the roadway.

Morley said it took close to an hour for emergency responders to extricate Dennis E. Jackson, 45, from his car. He had serious injuries to his legs and was flown to Flagstaff Medical Center in stable condition.

Hale was flown to John C. Lincoln Medical Center North with multiple injuries and is listed in stable condition.

It is believed the roadway will remain closed from Highway 89A to Willow Lake Road until about 5:30 p.m. while crews clean up the scene.
