Suspect arrested in Nevada in death of Arizona manPosted: Updated:
PRESCOTT, Ariz. (AP) – Authorities in Nevada have arrested a suspect wanted in connection with a homicide in Prescott.
Police say 61-year-old Charles "Chuck" Todd was taken into custody in Henderson, Nevada. He
is being held there, awaiting extradition to Arizona to face first-degree murder charges.
Police say 52-year-old David W. Mueller died in his Prescott home on Nov. 16.
Todd was apparently a family friend, and spent some time with Mueller's wife, Cynthia, in both Prescott and Henderson. He has reportedly admitted involvement in Mueller’s death.
Police say the victim had been dealing with some medical issues at the time of his death, and had been under the care of his wife.
Investigators served search warrants in Henderson, Boulder City and Prescott, and say they obtained evidence related to the homicide.
The Yavapai County Medical Examiner’s Office conducted an autopsy on Mueller. The cause of death has not been released. But the autopsy results are reportedly consistent with Todd’s account of what occurred at the time of the death.
