3TV Community Letter - November 2012

PHOENIX -- 3TV is dedicated to being an influential part of Arizona's Family.

Our community outreach expands past our airwaves and into the lives of our viewers: at their schools, supporting their causes and contributing our support to each and every member of Arizona's Family.

As a station, we invest our time in causes that are close to our heart, and sponsor events and organizations that make an impact in the state.

The motto of "Arizona’s Family" is demonstrated by our talent and their participation in various events, supporting hundreds of organizations that make Arizona a better place.

Together we can make a positive difference and support every member of "Arizona's Family."

On Air Talent Activities

November 3: Kyle Unfug of Your Life A to Z and Fields Mosley from Good Evening Arizona and the News at 9 hosted "Bids for Kids" in the East Valley. The silent auction and dinner raised $330,000 for theBoys & Girls Clubs of the East Valley.

November 10: Yetta Gibson stepped from behind the anchor desk to behind the podium to host "Wings to Fly" annual Fashion Tea. The organization send young women to a female empowerment camp. Ritz Carlton played host to the Fashion Tea in the morning and later "2012 Champions in Life".Marie Saavedra hosted the event benefiting United Cerebral Palsy of Arizona.

November 12: The dynamic duo of Carey Pena and Javier Soto, hosts with the most, were the voices of the VA Veterans Day Parade. The event honoring our hero's made its way through downtown Phoenix to thousands of spectators.

November 15: Yetta stopped by to talk TV with a class of girls from Xavier College Prepatory. She gave insight to the world of broadcasting and open up for questions from the future career women.

November 17: Twinkle Twinkle! Javier had the best seat in the house for Outlets at Anthem Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony. Turning on the largest lite tree in the state, American Idol Winner Phillip Phillips shined bright at the holiday event.

November 20: Good Morning Arizona Host Kaley O'Kelley took time to give back and help future reporters. Arizona State University students invited Kaley to be a guest speaker and share her advice for up and coming career people in the TV business. 

3TV Community Events

September - November: Arizona's Family Holiday Food Drive Trim the Table School Challenge presented by 3TV and Fry's Food Stores started off with a bang! Schools from all over Arizona compete to collect the most cans to feed Arizona's Family members. In total, local schools raised more than 32,710 cans to be donated to local food banks. Imagine Schools West Gilbert won the School Challenge collecting 7,836 cans of green beans.

Station Tours

Our station ambassador, Christina Duggan, leads select members of Arizona’s Family through a one hour educational tour explaining the inner workings of 3TV, CW6 and azfamily.com. This month 3TV provide behind the scenes tours to the Casa Grande Rotary Club, one Girl Scout Troop as a part of our 3TV Girl Scout Talk and Tour Program and a VIP tour to community members.
