LOS ANGELES -- Glen Campbell said one final goodbye to fans this week.

The legendary musician took the stage Friday for his final performance.

Last year, Campbell announced that he had been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s Disease.

The diagnosis was just another challenge in the life of a singer who has battled drug and alcohol addiction.

“I was forgiven for being a dummy, literally,” said Campbell.

Two years ago the 76-year-old entertainer released his final album, “Ghost on the Canvas.” He’s now wrapping up a farewell tour that features three of his children in the backing band.

“He looks at me sometimes as if he is confused, and I just smile at him, try and make him feel like he is surrounded by people that love him on stage,” said Campbell’s daughter Ashley.

But while Campbell’s time in front of an audience is coming to an end, he said he’s taking it in stride and continuing on with his life.

“Don’t cry over spilled milk. Get up, and be a man and do what you have got to do.”
