Peoria PD: Woman robs bank after claiming to have explosive device

PEORIA, Ariz. -- Peoria Police are searching for a woman who reportedly robbed a bank after claiming to be in possession of an explosive device.

According to authorities, the woman walked into the Wells Fargo near 75th Avenue and Cactus Road on November 21 and approached a teller.

The suspect told the teller that she had an explosive device and demanded that she be given money. The woman eventually fled the bank after receiving an undisclosed amount of cash.

Police said the suspect is described as a black female in her mid 20s to early 30s. She stands about 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighs between 140 and 160 pounds.

The woman has long black hair, and was last seen in tight black pants and a shirt with “South Pole” written across the front in neon green letters.
