Phoenix weather: Thanksgiving travel weather looking goodPosted: Updated:
PHOENIX -- A lot of folks are headed out of town, either driving or flying, and the weather looks to be cooperating.
For those of you flying, the only potential problem areas on Wednesday appear to be in the northwest United States, with showers and a bit of snow possible from northern California into the northern Rockies. But if you’re headed east from Phoenix, expect lots of sunshine and seasonal temps when you get to your destination. Much that same forecast holds for Thanksgiving Day if your flight is on Thursday.
If you’re headed out around our state, we don’t expect any rain for the next couple of days. Temperatures will continue above average for this time of year. That means desert highs, including metro Phoenix, will be running around 80 degrees with overnight lows in the 50s. In the mountains, look for highs in the 60s and low 70s for Thanksgiving Day.
And if you’re headed south to Mexico, we’re also expecting dry weather for the most part on Wednesday. However, on Thanksgiving Day we may see some thunderstorms around Chihuahua while the rest of the country gets dry weather.
