Weekend freeway construction to slow drivers in East Valley, North PhoenixPosted: Updated:
PHOENIX -- Before you head out this weekend, make a note of these construction projects in the Phoenix area from the Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT). Engineers says drivers will not see major closures, though workers will be busy in the East Valley and in North Phoenix.
*Westbound Loop 202 (Santan Freeway) narrowed to one lane between Guadalupe and Hawes roads from 4 a.m. to noon Sunday (Nov. 11) for pavement striping as part of the State Route 24 (Gateway Freeway) interchange project. Westbound Loop 202 on- and off-ramps at Elliot Road and westbound off-ramp at Hawes Road also closed. DETOUR: Please be prepared to merge safely when approaching the work zone. Consider using westbound Loop 202 exits at Guadalupe or Power roads to reach Ellsworth and Elliot roads.
*Ellsworth Road narrowed to one lane in each direction between Ray and Pecos roads from 8 p.m. Friday to 5 p.m. Sunday (Nov. 11) for a traffic switch related to State Route 24 construction. DETOUR: Consider using alternate routes, including Sossaman or Power roads.
*Northbound Interstate 17 off-ramp at Union Hills Drive closed from 11 p.m. Friday to 3 p.m. Saturday (Nov. 10) for electrical system work. DETOUR: Consider exiting at Yorkshire Drive.
