SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. -- A husband and wife were found dead early Wednesday morning inside a home in the upscale Buena Mira neighborhood near 104th Street and Sweetwater in Scottsdale.
Police have said they are not ready to call it a murder-suicide as they continue their investigation.
Scottsdale police were called to 10365 E. Corrine Drive to respond to a report of a double shooting.
Police confirm they are questioning the Daniel and Laura Peralta's adult son, who was apparently at home at the time of the shooting.
“An adult son thought he heard gunshots inside the home. He was sleeping and awakened,” said Scottsdale Police spokesperson Sgt. Mark Clark. “He investigated and found his mom and dad deceased.”
According to police, the son called 9-1-1 at around 5 a.m. Wednesday to report Daniel and Laura Peralta had been shot.
There were no signs of forced entry, and police do not think there was anyone inside the home at the time of the shooting, aside from the Peraltas and their son.
“At this point we don’t believe that there is anyone outstanding responsible,” said Clark. “We don’t think there’s anyone else involved.”
Clark said the couple does not have a criminal past, and that Scottsdale Police have never responded to a domestic violence call at the home.
Police are, however, calling this incident a domestic violence shooting. At this point, police will not confirm if the husband, the wife or the son is a suspect.
