FLORENCE, Ariz. -- An inmate serving time on a murder charge died this week behind bars.
The Arizona Department of Corrections said that Timothy Ben, 29, died Monday from an apparent suicide.
Ben, who had been sentenced in Coconino County, was serving a 20-year sentence for second-degree murder and unlawful use of means of transportation.
Ben had been in the custody of the Arizona Department of Corrections since January 2006. He was housed at ASPC-Eyman in Florence.
The Department of Corrections said his death will be investigated in consultation with the county medical examiner’s office.
