PHOENIX -- A former security guard at Tempe High School who was convicted of burglary and theft charges was sentenced Friday morning.

Judge Edward Bassett sentenced Kimmie Dwayne Baker to three years probation and 90 days in jail for the burglary conviction. Baker received three years probation for the theft conviction. Both counts will run concurrently.

Police said Baker entered the administration building last year and took the proceeds from a football game, which were stored in a locked closet.

Only a few people had a key to the closet. During a search of Baker's home, one was found tucked into the leather cover of his Bible.

Baker had worked at the school for almost 20 years.
