70 Pounds lighterPosted: Updated:
PHOENIX -- After last year's 3TV Phoenix 10K, runner Amy Crockett knew she needed to make some changes.
She had been in denial about how her weight had changed her, but there was no way to ignore the fact that her size large event T-shirt was a bit tight or the effects the 10K had on her body for days after the race. And then she saw a photo of herself from the event.
"The photo was really what got me moving," she said.
In the past year, Crockett has dropped about 70 pounds, going from a size 20 to a size 6. She now runs about 30 miles a week.
Crockett stopped by 3TV Friday morning to chat with Scott Pasmore about her experience and show off a little something she used as motivation.
"I feel awesome," she said. "The main thing for me was being honest with myself.
"Once I really started be honest about what I was eating and how much I really was exercising and just making healthy choices, that's when it really started to come off," she continued.
The 37th Annual 3TV Phoenix 10K is Sunday and includes a half marathon.
