PHOENIX -- A Tempe man accused of trying to lure two girls into his vehicle was sentenced Thursday to lifetime probation with sex offender terms.

Joseph Jamie Larosa must also register as a sex offender.

Tempe police said Larosa approached two girls walking to Kyrene Middle School on Sept. 9, 2011.

Police said he attempted to talk to the girls, but the 11- and 13-year-old girls continued walking and notified their school's resource officer.

Larosa pleaded guilty to two reduced charges of child abuse as part of a plea agreement. In exchange, two counts of luring a minor for sexual exploitation were dismissed.
