CHANDLER -- A motorcycle rider was killed in a collision involving a minivan and an SUV on Tuesday evening, according to a spokesman for the Chandler Police Dept.

The crash occurred at the intersection of Warner and Dobson roads. Eastbound Warner Rd. was closed during rush hour while police conducted their investigation.

Police said the 22-year-old motorcycle driver was going eastbound on Warner Rd when a woman driving a red SUV hit the motorcycle while making a left turn.

The motorcycle rider flew off his bike and landed on a transformer box. The motorcycle did catch on fire during the accident.

The driver of one of the other vehicles involved in the collision was sent to the hospital as a precaution.
