PHOENIX -- With dozens of long-time employees set to retire as the year draws to a close, the U.S. Postal Service is looking to hire more than 120 Arizonans for one-year positions.

New positions are being posted online every week at (Look for "Search Jobs & Apply Online" area on the right-hand side of the page.) Applications are accepted online only and the window to apply for any given job is five days.

While most of the available jobs, which are at various facilities throughout the state, are only for a year, some positions might lead to permanent employment.

Payment for these positions runs between $12.38 and $22.15 per hour. Because they are not career-track positions, benefits are not available.

Job responsibilities may include mail processing or delivery; some of the positions involve late-night shifts. More details on each position are available online.

In addition, USPS is hiring several temporary employees to help with mail processing during the holidays. These part-time positions pay $11 per hours, with the available hours based on mail volume. These short-term positions involve late-night shifts and do not come with benefits.

USPS is a self-supporting organization. It's funded by the sale of postage, products and services as opposed to tax dollars.
