Phoenix man killed by train in FlagstaffPosted: Updated:
FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. -- A Phoenix man died after being hit by a train in Flagstaff on Friday.
The Flagstaff Police Department responded to the train tracks near the intersection of old East Route 66 and Test Drive at approximately 5:20 p.m.
According to police spokesman Sgt. James Jackson, Herbert B. Tsosie, 45, was standing on the tracks near other box cars when he was hit by an eastbound train.
The train engineer told police that employees had observed a man standing near box cars and on the tracks the train was traveling. The employees tried sounding the whistle to get the man to move, but he never responded to the whistle.
Tsosie was pronounced dead on the scene.
The incident is still under investigation.
