PAYSON, Ariz. (AP) -- Crews still are trying to contain a lightning-caused wildfire that's burning in the Tonto National Forest in northern Arizona.
Authorities say the so-called Big Canyon Fire was reported Sunday morning in a rugged and remote section of the forest about 14 miles east of Payson.
The fire is estimated at more than 100 acres and is being fueled by dead and downed timber.
Ground crews are working to establish containment lines and additional resources arrived on the scene Monday.
Two air tankers and two helicopters plus three planes are working to douse the flames which are about two miles west of the Tonto Fish Hatchery in the Big Canyon area near the Highline Trail.
