PHOENIX -- A nude man lurking behind a dumpster brought police to a shopping mall this week, near 67th and Thomas Avenues.

A surveillance technician working for Centralized Vision was monitoring a bank of monitors, and spotted a trespasser walking toward some dumpsters.

After flipping through the pages of a book or magazine, the man began taking all of his clothes off.

Moments later, he can be seen on the video emerging from behind the dumpster completely naked, and unaware that the whole thing was caught on camera.

The Centralized Vision tech called police.

"Most of our catches are copper thieves and basic trespassing," said technician Thomas Rowswell. "I  can't explain what this guy was thinking."

The nude intruder was opening the dumpsters when a police car pulled up outside the gates to the lot.   He hid behind a wall until he was blasted with a spotlight from a police helicopter.

The man re-dressed, and took off. He disappeared before police were able to get inside the gated area.

"I have to believe this person's never going to come back to the property again," said Tom Vigilante, who owns Centralized Vision.
