Father, girlfriend arrested for allegedly abusing kids

SURPRISE, Ariz. -- A Valley father and his girlfriend have been arrested for allegedly abusing and molesting the man’s two daughters.

Surprise Police said they arrested the couple on Tuesday morning after conducting a search warrant at their home.

The alleged crimes are believed to have started as early as 2009 while the girls, who are now 11 and 13 years old, were in the care of their father and his girlfriend.

Authorities learned of the alleged abuse on May 23, 2012 after one of the girls told staff at her school.

Police conducted a lengthy investigation that resulted in the couple’s arrest.

The father is facing numerous charges, including sexual conduct of a minor, child sexual abuse, and aggravated assault on a child.

The girlfriend has been charged with child abuse and failing to report neglect.
