PHOENIX -- A man has pleaded guilty to second-degree murder in the dragging death of a 16-year-old Glendale girl last year.

Lino Chavez, 19, entered his plea on Wednesday. His mitigation hearing and sentencing is scheduled for Dec 7.

Chavez and Jose Solis Apodaca were arrested in the death of Anita Munoz, a student at Independence High School.

Police said the men stole a laptop computer from Munoz at her apartment complex near 67th and Glendale avenues on March 30, 2011.
Munoz confronted the men and they got into a struggle.

Detectives said the suspects tried to drive away and Munoz grabbed onto the vehicle from an open window on the driver's side. She was dragged then fell and hit her head. She died several days later.
