PHOENIX -- October is off to a hot start with Tuesday afternoon temperatures expected again to be almost 10 degrees above average.
Although morning lows were nice and cool in the 60s, by lunchtime we'll be in the mid-90s and by this afternoon expect a high of about 103 degrees under sunny skies.
A high pressure ridge parked over the Southwest will eventually start to flatten out mid-week and will shift east over the weekend, finally offering some relief.
In the meantime, at least nights and mornings will be pleasant, with overnight lows dipping to the low to mid-60s in some spots.
