Several small fires start northeast of WilliamsPosted: Updated:
WILLIAMS, Ariz. – Firefighters are working to contain several small fires two miles northeast of Williams on the east side of state Highway 64.
The fires are burning slowly through grass and ponderosa pine. They are estimated at less than 1 acre in size.
Kaibab National Forest, Williams Fire Department and Department of Public Safety personnel are responding to the fires.
Several engines are on scene.
Motorists are advised to use caution traveling along Highway 64 Monday afternoon as crews work to suppress the fires.
The cause of the fires is under investigation.
