PHOENIX -- It was a pleasant start to the day, and the week---officially our last week of summer.
Overnight lows briefly dipped to the upper 60s in a few outlying locations in the Valley, while most of town dropped to the low 70s under clear skies.
This afternoon, expect sunshine and a high of about 99 degrees. Then, overnight lows are expected to dip a bit more, to the upper 60s in outlying areas, and to about 74 in town by tomorrow morning.
Afternoon highs are expected to top out near 101 degrees under sunny skies the rest of this week ahead, with overnight lows coming up a bit to the upper 70s.
Fall officially starts Saturday morning, with the autumnal equinox set to occur at 10:49 a.m.
