PHOENIX -- The winds were beginning to pick up mid-morning on Friday, and the day ahead looks to be a breezy one.
Low pressure has moved off to our east, while high pressure is building to our north. The pressure gradient between the two will drive strong easterly winds across Arizona today. The Valley should see 10 to 20 mph winds, with gusts of around 30 mph.
As that high pressure sinks south into our state, drier air will replace monsoon moisture, leading to lower humidity.
Temperatures are expected to stay below average, with afternoon highs in the mid to upper 90s today through the weekend, and overnight lows in the 70s.
The winds should settle down by tonight for a sunny and calm weekend ahead statewide.
