No charges likely in baby's death at Gilbert day care center

GILBERT, Ariz. -- An investigation into the death of a baby at a Gilbert day care center has found no criminal conduct at this time.
The 3-month-old boy stopped breathing at KinderCare near Gilbert and Warner roads on Monday.
Life-saving measures were performed by staff, police officers and firefighters. The baby was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.
An autopsy was performed Thursday at the Maricopa County Medical Examiner's Office.
The Gilbert Police Department is waiting for a final written report from the medical examiner, but Sgt. Bill Balafas said at this point in the investigation there appears to be no criminal conduct concerning this case.
