Mayer man crashes truck on bridge, falls to his deathPosted: Updated:
YAVAPAI COUNTY, Ariz. -- A Mayer resident died this week after reportedly crashing his truck on a Yavapai County bridge.
Deputies with the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office responded early Tuesday morning after learning of a single-car accident near milepost 17 and Crown King Road.
When they arrived, deputies found the front end of a pickup truck sitting on top of a bridge railing.
The body of 32-year-old Clinton Gwinn was subsequently found 40 feet below the bridge.
Deputies learned that Gwinn had been driving the truck, and fell off the bridge while attempting to exit the vehicle.
There were also two passengers inside the truck, but they weren’t injured. YCSO said they were both interviewed extensively as part of the investigation.
Detectives continue to investigate the incident, but it is believed that alcohol was a factor.
