HOLBROOK, Ariz. (AP) -- A Casa Grande man has been arrested in connection with an armed robbery at a home in the small eastern Arizona community of Wagon Wheel.

Navajo County Sheriff's deputies say 19-year-old Scotty Ryan Chism was taken into custody after being released from a hospital where he was treated for a gunshot wound to the torso.

Authorities say Chism is being held on suspicion of armed robbery, burglary, kidnapping and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

Deputies were dispatched to the reported robbery about 3 a.m. Tuesday.

They reported finding a 22-year-old man from Mesa with a gunshot wound to the head. He's in stable condition at a Phoenix hospital.

Investigators plan to file criminal charges against the second suspect after he's released from the hospital. His name hasn't been released.

Chism's mother, Kelly Ann Strap, 38, of Lakeside, was arrested for giving detectives misleading information about her son's identity.

Strap was charged with hindering prosecution and obstruction of justice. She was booked into the Navajo County Jail and is being held on $1,500 bond.
