GLENDALE, Ariz. -- If you're looking for a job, today could be your lucky day. Throw on your professional clothes, grab a handful of résumés and head to Arena. The new Tanger Outlets going up at Westgate is bringing nearly 1,000 jobs to the West Valley.

Tanger Outlets Westgate will open Nov. 15, said company spokeswoman Jessica Reeves.

"All of our stores are coming here today to Area to hire for store managers, inventory assistants, cashiers, greeters -- no experience to a lot of experience," she said. "We're really starting to amp up to get ready for our November opening."

The stores are not the only businesses looking to fill positions. Reeves and her Tanger Outlets team will be hiring, as well.

"Today's the day to find out what we're doing," she said. "Bring copies of your résumé. Come with a good attitude. Dress professionally. Be yourself. That's most important. Just be yourself and show all that you have to offer."

There are both full-time and part-time positions available. There are will be seasonal jobs.

The new shopping center will cover 328,000 square feet and feature 85 brand-name outlet stores, including Gap, Brooks Brothers, Coach Factory, Converse, Haggar and Nike Factory Store.

Wednesday's job fair opens at noon and will run until 7 p.m.

A handful for job seekers showed up at Arena hours before the fair got under way.

"I was laid off," said Karie-Ann Larson. "This is the first time in my life -- I'm 52 years old -- the first time in my life I've ever been unemployed and unemployment canceled me. And so I need to work -- now. that's where I am in my life. I need to pay my rent."

Those planning to attend Wednesday's job fair at Arena should enter at Gate 3 or Gate 4.

Based in Greensboro, N.C., Tanger owns 39 upscale shopping centers in 25 states and Canada with more than 175 million shoppers visiting their stores annually.

Tanger opened its first outlet center in Burlington, N.C. in 1981. It was "the country’s first authentic outlet shopping center," according to the company's website. The company has grown steadily since. Today, "... Tanger centers are major tourist attractions that welcome more than 180 million brand name bargain hunters annually."
