FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. -- A special tribute Saturday honored officers and deputies who have lost their lives in the line of duty.
The Flagstaff Police Department and the Coconino County Sheriff's Office unveiled a memorial dedicated to those who paid the ultimate sacrifice.
The memorial consists of a bronze statue on a block of native rock. A list of officers and deputies will be permanently attached to the memorial.
It's a way to remember their sacrifices.
"Today was great," said Stacie Moritz, widow of a fallen officer. "It was a long time coming and it's wonderful that northern Arizona has an opportunity to honor those who took the ultimate sacrifice."
The memorial is located at the entrance of the building that houses the sheriff's office and police department.
