GLENDALE, Ariz. -- Four people are in the hospital after the driver of a minivan became distracted and plowed into a building in Glendale.

It happened just before 8 a.m. just east of 67th Avenue on Bell Road.

According to Tracey Breeden of the Glendale Police Department, the driver, an adult male, was heading west on Bell Road at the time.

While investigators do not believe impairment or speed were factors in the wreck, they do think the driver was distracted when he lost control of the minivan. At this point, they are not sure what the source of that distraction was.

"We're still uncertain what the cause was," Glendale firefighter Jose Morales said.

The minivan crashed into building housing a Budget rental car business. There were people working inside at the one. One of those people was hit by the bricks that were pushed in by the minivan. That person suffered minor injuries but refused treatment.

The minivan driver and his three passengers suffered non life-threatening injuries. They all were taken to local hospitals as a precaution.

"It could have been a lot worse," Morales said.

Police have not released the name or age of the driver.

Details will be updated as they become available.
