PHOENIX -- After a warm and humid weekend, temperatures drop off a bit as we head into a new week.
Labor Day began with Valley lows in the 80s, but it was still fairly muggy with relative humidity near 40 percent. This afternoon, expect a high of about 105 degrees, and by tonight there is a slight chance of thunderstorms. There is a chance of storms throughout the day in the high country.
Storm chances continue throughout the week ahead, and Valley temperatures gradually come back to normal for this time of year.
Look for afternoon highs near 102 by mid-week, and near only 100 by next weekend.
There is about a 20 percent chance of Valley storms tonight through Thursday.
