PHOENIX -- Police are searching for a suspect involved in a chase and a standoff in West Phoenix Tuesday evening.

Two men and a woman are in custody. A fourth person is outstanding.

The Maricopa County Sheriff's Office has identified the suspects as Bertha Galvan, Mark Martinez and Louis Vela

It started when Maricopa County sheriff's deputies followed a car that had been reported stolen into the neighborhood of 75th Avenue and Indian School Road.

Four adults and a child were in that car. Deputies quickly took Galvan and one of the men into custody, but the other two men refused to surrender.

After a standoff, one of those men gave himself up. The other man remains on the loose.

Galvan was booked on warrants out of Surprise, El Mirage and Phoenix on a variety of charges ranging from assault to driving on a suspended license. According to MCSO, she has not yet been charged with anything connected to Tuesday's incident.

Martinez, 34, was booked on one count of kidnapping, one count of robbery and one county of car theft.

Vela was booked on an outstanding warrant issued in Phoenix. Like Galvan, he has not been booked in connection anything that happened Tuesday evening.

Detectives are still piecing together the events leading up to the pursuit and subsequent standoff.

Investigators have not released any information about the suspect who is still on the run. They also have not said how the child who was in the car figures into the equation.
