PHOENIX -- After a toasty Tuesday high of 109 degrees, our late-August heat begins to subside today.

As a ridge of high pressure slowly slides east, temperatures should ease up a bit.  A high of 106 degrees is forecast for this afternoon under mostly sunny skies.

By the weekend, temperatures should peak closer to 104, which is average for this time of year.

Monsoon moisture will begin to increase as it moves in to Arizona from the south over the next couple of days.

There is a slight chance of storms tomorrow evening in the Valley, with a slightly better chance Friday and Friday night.

A slight chance of storms continues over the weekend and into Labor Day.  Overnight lows should stay in the 80s.
