MESA, Ariz. -- A Valley teenager was arrested Monday after a 14-year-old girl was found bloody and unconscious in a public bathroom.
Mesa Police were called after a Valley Metro bus driver entered a bathroom at Fitch Park and found a 14-year-old girl bleeding from her head and groin area.
A 14-year-old boy was also in the bathroom wiping up blood on the floor.
The bus driver told police that the boy, who appeared intoxicated, dragged the girl out of the restroom and into a grassy area.
The boy then lay down next to the girl before eventually getting up and leaving the scene. He was arrested nearby, while the girl was taken to a local hospital.
Police have not had a chance to interview the girl, but they said she did know the suspect.
The boy has been booked into jail on one count of sexual assault and one count of aggravated assault.
Police are continuing to investigate the case.
