COOLIDGE, Ariz. -- Authorities have identified the body found in Picacho Lake earlier this week.

The Coolidge Police Department has confirmed that Denise Shaw was pulled from the water on Monday afternoon.

While police continue their investigation, they have announced that they arrested Shaw’s husband, Bryan Shaw, last weekend in a separate case.

Coolidge Police were called to a home last Sunday morning and found Leslie Castillo severely beaten inside the residence.

Castillo, who was transported to a hospital in Phoenix, told police that it was Bryan Shaw who had assaulted her.

While investigating the attack on Castillo, police learned that Denise Shaw may have also been at the house.

Investigators, however, were not able to locate Denise Shaw.

Last Sunday, police arrested Bryan Shaw for allegedly beating Castillo. The very next day Denise Shaw’s body was found in Picacho Lake.

Police have not identified Bryan Shaw as a suspect in his wife's death.

Anyone with any information related to the case is asked to contact the Coolidge Police Department or Silent Witness.
