PHOENIX -- Police have arrested a man on a charge of manslaughter for allegedly running over a pedestrian with his truck.

Luke Montoya was attempting to cross the road in the area of 2500 W. Greenway Road the night of August 21 when he was struck by a pickup truck driven by 61-year-old Tony Thomas Bracy.

Police said the area does not have a marked cross walk.

Montoya was taken to a local hospital where he died from his injuries.

Bracy wasn’t hurt during the accident, and stayed on scene until police arrived.

Authorities said they believe alcohol and speed were a factor in the collision.
