Kidnapping, armed robbery suspect arrested in SaffordPosted: Updated:
PHOENIX -- A kidnapping and armed robbery suspect is set to be extradited back to Maricopa County after being arrested by Safford Police.
Todd Alan Lee, 49, is facing multiple criminal charges for allegedly robbing two 18-year-old men, and forcing a 29-year-old woman to consume methamphetamine.
On the evening of August 16, the two men were at an apartment complex at 2529 West Cactus Road where they were being shown an apartment by the woman.
While walking the property, Lee reportedly approached the trio and pulled out a handgun.
Lee allegedly forced them inside a vacant apartment where he robbed the two men. He then forced the woman to inhale methamphetamine.
All three victims were able to escape the apartment and call police. Officers, however, weren’t able to locate Lee when they arrived on scene.
While investigating the case, police learned that Lee had fled Maricopa County and that he had family living in the Thatcher/Safford area.
Safford Police were notified about Lee, and on August 25 a Safford Police officer spotted Lee in a vehicle.
Officers were able to take Lee into custody following a brief foot pursuit.
There are other criminal charges pending against Lee that stem from at least one other investigation.
