PD: Woman stabs boyfriend over phone call from another female

GILBERT, Ariz. -- Police arrested a Gilbert woman Sunday after she allegedly stabbed her boyfriend in the back.

Gilbert police received two 911 calls about a stabbing at a home near Guadalupe and Recker roads at about 6 a.m.

A 35-year-old Mesa man reported that his girlfriend had stabbed him in the back after an argument and he had locked himself inside her bathroom for safety.

Police said the argument started after the victim reportedly received a phone call from another woman.

Officers took Latina Marie Carr, 39, of Gilbert into custody without incident.

The victim was transported to Banner Gateway Hospital for treatment of non life-threatening injuries.

Carr was booked into Fourth Avenue Jail on charges of aggravated assault.
