SURPRISE, Ariz. -- Surprise Police said two people had to be hospitalized Friday night following a drive-by shooting.
Officers responded to the 15800 North block of Factory Street around 7:30 p.m. and discovered that a 17-year-old male and a 20-year-old male were suffering from gunshot wounds.
The 20-year-old had been struck in the head and was hospitalized in extremely critical condition. The 17-year-old was shot in the foot and was taken to the hospital with injuries that were not life threatening.
During the course of their investigation, police said they discovered that the shooting was brought on by an ongoing dispute between the two men.
The 20-year-old had reportedly driven to the area with friends and opened fire on the 17-year-old and a 22-year-old man.
The 22-year-old returned fire, hitting the 20-year-old.
Police said they have not made any arrests, but continue to investigate the case.
