Gilbert teen 'smizes' her way on to new 'Top Model' cycle

PHOENIX -- CW favorite "America's Next Top Model" is back with a new crop of young hopefuls looking to breaking into the fashion biz.

Last cycle was "British Invasion." This round -- 19, for those of you keeping count --  is the College Edition, and this time viewers get to take part in the judging process.

When the popular show premieres Friday night, a Gilbert 18-year-old will be on the catwalk.

Brittany Brown, a graduate of Mesquite High School and current student at Chandler Gilbert Community College, cracked the top 13. She stopped by 3TV's studio just hours before the premiere to chat with Gina Maravilla (who is a huge ANTM fan), Kaley O'Kelley and Javier Soto.

While she kept mum on many details about the show, Brown, who got a drastic makeover in one episode (something for which ANTM is known), demo'd her signature walk while showing Soto, king of the walk-and-talk live report, how to get his "smize" on. (Smize is ANTM speak for smiling with your eyes, which show creator and host Tyra Banks says is a very import skill for any model.)

"America's Next Top Model" airs Friday nights on 3TV's sister station, CW6.
