SOMERTON, Ariz. -- Border patrol agents say drug smugglers are resorting to plane drops to get their shipments into the United States.

Yuma Sector Border Patrol agents responded to reports of an ultralight aircraft circling an area near Somerton Saturday evening.

They tracked the plane and found five bundles of marijuana and a "drop cage" just outside Somerton. They found three more bundles beneath a tree a short distance away and a ninth bundle nearby.

The marijuana weighed 208 pounds and had a street value of nearly half a million dollars.

The marijuana was turned over to the Drug Enforcement Administration for processing.
