SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. -- Police have arrested a 52-year-old woman in connection to three residential burglaries in Scottsdale and Phoenix.

Scottsdale police detectives began surveillance on Diana Lewis on Thursday after she was identified as a possible suspect in two Aug. 10 burglaries in the 7700 block of East Roosevelt Street and the 7300 block of East Portland Street in Scottsdale.

During the surveillance, detectives said they saw her conduct a burglary by entering through the back door of a home in the 7200 block of North 17th Avenue in Phoenix.

Detectives continued to follow her and she eventually went through a drive-thru at a fast-food restaurant at Glendale and 35th avenues where officers took her into custody.

While securing her at the scene, Lewis ran from detectives and injured her leg during the struggle to get her back into custody, police said.

She was transported to Maryvale Hospital for treatment then released to Maricopa County Jail.

Police said search warrants served on Lewis' home and vehicle recovered cash, jewelry and various items tying her to the Phoenix burglary and the two Scottsdale burglaries.

Lewis was booked on counts of burglary and related charges.
